After 30 plus years of doing this work I can honestly say that each album I manage to finish feels like a coup, like wrestling something out of the ether, out of nothingness, and bringing it into being. This work can often appear (and feel) very self-absorbed, and as such I want to thank my beautiful wife and children for enduring and encouraging me throughout, and Seth Woods and Alex Dupree for anchoring and amplifying my visions/songs with their incredible co-production (and indelible friendship). I am extremely gratified to have had so many friends and collaborators with me in the trenches, and am maybe more proud of this record than anything I’ve done before. But at the end of the day art is as much about connection as it is about expression and I am most of all grateful for the opportunity to set it free and let it fly.
